Tacospeak

Watching the Seminoles beat the Syracuse Orange was hard work, and with the thrill of victory in the air, we walked towards Tacospeak for dinner.  The restaurant is located at 1525 W. Tennessee Street on the corner of Stadium Drive.

A small line snaked back from the register as we browsed the menu.  Tacospeak keeps things streamlined by offering nine tacos (three of which are stuffed with breakfast fixings), queso, guacamole and fire roasted salsa.  Kir ordered a Mexican Cola-Pork and a CBLT, while I selected the Longhorn and Duke tacos.  We decided to split a cup of queso and also ordered a soda.

While we waited for the food to arrive, we surveyed the space, located in a newly constructed building.  By early evening the dimly lit dining area was packed with students scarfing downs tacos.  Tacospeak is sparsely decorated, with the main theme being exposed concrete.  What it lacks in ambiance, it makes up for in flavor.  We snacked on the queso and accompanying chips while waiting for our meals.  The queso tasted of real cheese, and was thick and packed a little spicy punch, and was a good accompaniment to the crispy, fresh chips.
