Smashburger is the latest entrant into the Tallahassee Burger Battle. The Denver based chain opened its first local restaurant at 1380-1 Village Square Boulevard and has plans to open three additional locations in the Capital City.
Recently I visited Smashburger for dinner with Kirsten and her mom. The line to order stretched back from the counter towards the front door and provided ample time to look over the menu. Smashburger offers a wide variety of burgers and chicken sandwiches covered with unique toppings. Black bean patties are also available for those seeking a vegetarian option.
We arrived at the register and both Kirsten and her mom, Marlene, ordered the Spinach, Cucumber & Goat Cheese hamburger. Kirsten went with a side of regular Smashfries while her mom opted for the sweet potato variety. Marlene who is gluten intolerant opted for the Udi’s gluten free bun. I ordered the BBQ, Bacon & Cheddar with a side of spicy buffalo fries. Kirsten also ordered a salted caramel malt from their hand-spun shake menu.
