Tallahassee is now home to Persis Grill, a small chain of eleven restaurants in eleven states that specialize in authentic Indian cuisine. Located in a strip mall across from Academy Sports, the restaurant is sandwiched between a taco joint and one specializing in Japanese food. Parking during the lunch rush was a chore, but we found a space after circling the lot for a couple of minutes. Dark plate glass windows shield the inside of Persis from prying eyes, and as we made our way towards the restaurant I had no idea what to expect.
Walking into the restaurant we were immediately greeted by a young man who served double duty as the hostess and the restaurant’s lone waiter. We were seated in a booth towards the front and our drink order was taken. Above the lacquered tables black and white photographs of cricket players lined the wall. The floors were a deep orange stained concrete. At the back a bar ran the length of the restaurant. Various wines and beers, including Kingfisher, lined the shelves. The space was slick, modern, and spotless. For more on Persis Grill, read the full review on Tallahassee.com.
